Week 28 and doctor's appointment

Well here we are at the tail end of the 28th week and I have yet to update you on my doctor's appointment on Monday...tisk tisk tisk...

Well it was mostly good news from the doctor's standpoint. Baby's heartbeat went back up into the 150's (which is still normal) and was measuring back on track for size. She said that she is not able to tell how baby is positioned at this time and doesn't like to try because he still has some room to move around and switch his position. I had asked about that pain i was having where my right ovary should be. Well to my antimony surprise my ovary is currently located much higher so she assured me the pain must be round ligament pain and not to worry. I should however, give a call to the office if it is very painful because then they may suspect appendicitis. (apparently being pregnant puts you at a higher risk of having it...oh my..."stop worrying about it Sara"). She was happy to hear that baby is moving a lot and I am to return in 1 month. What makes this whole experience even more real is that i start to see her every two weeks for a month after that and then once a week! yikes! Nothing like making you realize we are in the home stretch.

*sorry still not able to get pictures uploaded yet...will be done soon...so keep checking back*

I am feeling pretty good. Starting to really slow down in my activity level, although i have my bursts of energy. I can tell the heat this summer is gonna be a real hoot! I learned my lesson yesterday while walking out in the heat for a few hours (rummaging with some good peeps) and not drinking enough water. Dully noted to drink way more water with the heat! I am still enjoying baby boy's movement but have to be honest...at times I do ask him to settle it down a bit...he doesn't really listen to me all that well! also on topics of my stomach...i feel like it's about to burst open...i won't share the dream i had of that last night! I also have started to have Braxton Hicks contractions (actually i have had them for a few weeks but didn't realize what they were until the doctor confirmed it for me).

Baby this week continues to grow. The biggest change this week is in his brain. Until now his brain has been smooth, but this week it starts to change and create those grooves and indentations we are familiar with. I guess that means he just keeps getting smarter and smarter! He keeps adding fat to himself (i am secretly hoping that is where my higher than normal weight gain came from.) His testes are now fully descended into his scrotum. His head continues to grow with hair. This next one allows me to breathe a small sigh of relief...if he was born tomorrow his lungs are now capable of breathing air! However, i think i'll try and keep him cooking for a little while longer! He is weighing in at around 2.5 pounds and about 14 inches long.

Well off to bed...way past my bed time and i gotta get up early for work. I am starting my two week stretch of full time again, so mamma might be little tired for the next few weeks!

Hello 3rd trimester!

*disclaimer* pictures not loaded yet, just use your imagination for the time being and check back later... Sincerely, the management.

Well Hello Month number 6! How are you? It seems like you snuck up on us and placed a small panic attack on us. Well, thankfully the panic attack is over and we are continuing to enjoy your sweet surprise each day.

Well here we are in week number 27. I have been feeling good, with some right lower side pain (in the area where my ovary was located about 27 weeks ago), so that is question number one on my list for Dr. Young on Monday. The right ovary was the one that still had some size to it back during the 20 week ultrasound. I must confess that i most likely freaked myself out by watching one of those baby shows and while completing a scheduled c-section the doctor found a rather large mass on the patients ovary that had been causing her pain...but i am choosing to only worry about that once a day. :) I have also noticed that my energy tanks don't take too long to deplete. I take a rest breaks during the day to compensate. One thing that has taken me this long to realize is that my hair growth is slowed considerably. I was surprised by this as all i had ever read was how fast and thick your hair grows...not this chica! That will make summer a little more bearable. :) Since i didn't take a "formal" 27 week picture, please enjoy this lovely couple from the weekend at a wedding as a substitute! (thanks for borrowing me the dress Rachel!)

Me and Al picture

I just thought this picture was hilarious. My uncle Al says to me "let's take a picture, i bet i can look more pregnant than you!" So i obliged and this is the result...to be fair he is not only sticking out his stomach, he is also arching his back! But funny none the less!

As noted above, we celebrated the marriage of my cousin Heather and her new husband Kyle on Saturday up in Chippewa. We had a great time and are so happy for the two of them! I didn't get to "jiggity with it" but was able to jump into a few dances.

The projects are on a standstill this week as Derek needed a break. I guess someone has been working him to the bone (not sure who that would be :) ) and needed some much rewarded/deserved PlayStation/movie watching time!

Baby Umnus this week is over 2 pounds and about 14 inches. His current home (i.e. my uterus) is now roughly the size of a basketball. He has opened his eyes and should be able to start responding (i.e. kicking me harder) to stimuli. A side note of that...I really must make the cliche statement.."i swear we have a soccer player in there." Not sure how many of my organs are bruised yet, but they are all on there way.

Well that should be all for the week. We are headed up north again this weekend for another wedding bash! Seriously, 2 wedding's all summer and they are back to back out of town!

Thursday, June 3

baby has a new floor to crawl on...

Yea the new carpet is in and looks like i will be taking a stroll outside (P.U.)

But first, the tile is in, grouted, and ready to be sealed! Doesn't Derek do great work!

It sure is different vacuuming this carpet!

The new look of the foyer

So glad we decided to carpet the stairs too, it gives it such a nicer look than that old industrial grey crap. Suppose we need to get a gate now...in time...

26 weeks and making progress

I have some fans out there who are outraged that i have been slacking on the blog posts...so here I am one day late with the 26 week update!

As I reported two days ago, i have been feeling good. I realize though when i have started to over do it i get sharp pains at the top of my stomach. So, i have been trying to slow it down..mainly my walking speed...It's amazing Derek actually walks faster than i do these days! A side not of cravings.. I can't get enough of lettuce...At subway they are putting extra helping of it on, any hamburger or sandwich must have it on it, and salads are mandatory with at least one meal a day!

Here I am at 26 weeks trying to look hip and fashionable in the latest Old Navy Maternity line.

Baby Umnus this week has now opened his eyes! I think i say it every week but I am amazed at what a miracle any child is. He is weighing in at about 2 pounds and keeps on growing. He is taking small "breaths" of amniotic fluid everyday getting him shape for the good stuff on the outside. His nerve pathways are becoming more and more developed so that he will soon start to purposefully respond to sound. He may respond to light as well since since he can open his eyes.

This weekend we had a couple helpers who tirelessly worked on ripping the carpet and all her staples off the floor in the Living Room, Hallway, and Stairs. And we are so thankful for that help! As I write this Derek is grouting the front entryway tile in prep for the carpet install on Thursday. Here are a few pictures of the lovely mayhem from the past 24 hours and another surprise as we lifted the carpet.

Derek and one of his supervisors making sure the demo goes on track (don't worry she was locked up after this picture was taken)

Another helper has arrived to make sure all goes well

Here is a gorgeous model showing off the "beautiful" carpet before...

and after...no jewels found under the carpet here except for some green paint splotch that we can only image went on the wall somewhere at one time

Oh that gorgeous model again with the hallway carpet before...

and after...some very nice linoleum under that carpet

The Fantastic grey industrial carpeting on the stairs before...

and after...If we had known there was real hardwood under that nasty carpet it would have been gone a very long time ago!...Derek really was helping pull out the million staples in the stairs it just don't look like it here!

Can't waif for thursday to come...so we can move this out of our kitchen!...
