Red Chair Photo Shoot

Last week one day, Mason and Derek had a "Daddy and Me" day while I went to work. (daycare kids were sick and super nanny already had plans) In true fashion, Derek had a blast with Mason that day. They had lots of fun I was told and even had a photo shoot in Mason's new red chair he got from Grandma and Grandma Umnus for Christmas. Thought I would share some of those shots! He is such a ham!

"Look how long my legs are!"

"I like my book and Monkey."

"Listen up Mr. Monkey...this is a book about bears."

"You didn't like my book? Then I think I will eat you Mr. Monkey"

"yep you taste good."

"Now you listen here Mr. Monkey. I am cuter than you!"

All done now...there is stuff happening outside!

5 months?! really?!

5 months...wow, time really does fly. 5 months ago we were welcoming our little man into the world and wondering "now what?" I can't imagine our life without him. Makes me think what did we do with our time before him. Life just feels like it has such a greater purpose now. I still sit and think to myself "wow, we have a child...and we are responsible for all aspects of his life...hope we don't screw him up too badly!"

I feel like I should do a big write up as to what he is doing, but just did in the last few posts. SO here's the Cliff Notes: he is smiling, rolling over both ways, laughing, playing with his toes, always wanting to sit up or stand, and putting everything he can find into his mouth. He is such a happy baby with such a huge personality already. I can't wait to see what he does in the next month. Even though we were dealt a blow from early on and have a few more things to deal with in caring for Mason, he knows nothing different and continues to discover more and more about himself and the world around him.

he was more interested in playing than sitting for a picture...he should know better by now (just kidding) since we have taken over 2500 pictures since he was born...

lovin' on hurumph

Mason likes to stand now...he's actually got pretty good balance

He enjoys the "flying in the air" trick...just don't do it too close to meal time!

why so serious?

I was doing Mason's morning CPT (chest physiotherapy) and Mia really wanted to help...notice Mason grabbing some fur? He will do this when she comes to lay by us, even smacking her a few times in the face...and she just sits there!

I'm a big boy now in my highchair!

He does really well sitting in here. We get him in there just to give him his Prilosec and enzymes. Soon enough he'll be in there for some real food. CF clinic wants us to wait until he is 6 months old to start introducing "food".

Sometimes Mason even sits in the chair for a little bit after eating if he gets to squirmy. This way he is upright and entertained to help keep the good stuff in his tummy.

Mason was thrilled with the Packer's Win on Sunday. He was so excited, in fact, he spilled his drink all over himself.

Mr. Alligator is eying up those chubby cheeks.

Mason has finally figured out he can push himself up with his arms...finally!

Hanging out with Daddy

last night we decided to put the sippy cup to a test. He likes to hold onto the bottle and the sippy cup said for ages 4+ months, so we figured "why not". Of course it didn't go so well, but the handles and lid is interchangeable with his bottles, so for now we will just keep using the handles. baby steps...

A Quick Weekend Trip

This past weekend we made a quick trip up north to celebrate a good friend's upcoming baby. Baby Taylor is due in March and we can't wait to meet her! Mason is excited to meet his future girlfriend! It was good to see a few old friends even if it was only for a few hours. I just wished we all lived so much closer to each other. We drove up on Sat and came home Sunday...making for a tired Umnus clan.

"We stop at Arby's and all I get are these rings?"

Like Father, Like Son

On a road trip...yea!

Hanging out with Great Grandma Grace again

Meeting cousin Rachel

Me and Grandma Pam

not sure who taught him how to drive!?

second time sleeping in his pack n' play. Thanks for getting the sheets Grandma Pam!

pictures galore!

Although we haven't kept up on the blog posting don't fret because we are no slackers when it comes to taking pictures! I have loaded up a few from the past few weeks for your viewing pleasure. I have more to share from last weekend and Daddy's photo shoot with him in he red chair, so be expecting frequent updates for awhile... YEA!

Mason is super duper excited about the Packer's heading to the superbowl! It's all he has been talking about since they whooped Da' Bears yesterday!

Happy as a clam in his 'saucer. He LOVES his rings...you will always find them in his mouth.

my sweet boy

We like to sit up these days. He no longer wishes to lounge back in the bouncer.

We would rather do this now (he's strapped in)! We had been putting the bouncer on the table in the morning because it was easier to get his meds and enzymes in at that time. However, he likes to also lean as far forward as he can in it. So we now we are a big boy and use the high chair!

Mason has been a rollin' man since he figured it out. The first night he figured it out, this is how I found him in the morning...and just about every morning since. He flips over and moves 90 degrees.

He also is getting that butt in the air and pushing forward with his feet. However, it can be slightly comical due to the fact his face is usually planted on the ground and he is pushing.

Everything is in our mouths these days

Mason also enjoys the taste of his toes. Here he is demonstrating his fine flexability.

must...get...toes...to...mouth

We are also showing our independence at feeding time. I love how he grabs onto our hands as if to help hold the bottle. But be careful if you pull it away, he uses those muscles to strong arm the bottle back into his mouth!

I can do it all by myself!

Mason and Daddy took some pictures when Mommy was at work one day...What a great surprise in my email in box!

Such a great idea. Got this from an old co-worker from the Grove! Notice the info on the postage stamp?

"Yo, what's up ladies?"

never guess what he's looking at?

I think he may be downloading in this picture

Grandma Pam and daddy helping make my hand print for a Christmas ornament

I love my monkey...

Went in to wake up daddy and I fell alseep...FAIL. So mommy took a picture (no surprise there)

Did you know there was a full moon this past week?
