Under the 40 day mark! ahhhhh!

As if the title of this post doesn't say it enough....aahhhhhhh! Starting to get a little anxious and nervous for the arrival of our little one. It still feels like there are so many thing to put into place...i might be busy this weekend...and so might Derek. :)

I had my 34 week appointment with the Doc yesterday and all is well. I only gained 2 pounds so i celebrated with a gigantic cookie from work and a smoothie from McDonald's (FYI there is 54g of sugar is a small one of those supposed "real fruit" smoothies). blood pressure is good at 110/60. Swelling has really been at a minimum since i have finally started drinking enough water throughout the day. Baby boy's heartbeat was in the 150's and his current crowded (because it feels that way to me) home is measuring in at one week ahead of schedule. So, I still think we are going to have an August baby. She again warned me that if I were to go into labor tomorrow she would not stop it. To which i nervously laughed out loud and said "i'm not ready". We discussed if he did come now he would most likely spend a few weeks in the NICU but only until he could regulate his temp, eat well enough, and a few other things. She asked about any contractions, but I told her that I really haven't noticed much in that department...it may be because I have been working and much busier these past two weeks. After having said that, i did have a nice one yesterday morning that I needed to sit down for because of the pain. She then said that i am "allowed" those but no need to call until i have more than 4 an hour.

Here I am at 33 weeks and then 34 weeks...

33 weeks

34 weeks

Baby boy this week should be weighing in at a hefty 5 1/2 pounds and measuring about 19 inches long. The Doc was able to tell me that his head is down (which might explain my need to pee so much more). His fingernails have reached the tips of his fingers now and his testicles should have descended into the scrotum this week as well. The vertex covering his body also continues to thicken this week. The Doc said that if he were to be born this week that no steroid injections would be given to me to streghten his lungs because he should be ready to breath on his own at this time. He continues to be VERY active. There are times when i am resting my arm/hand/ whatever on my stomach and it litterally is kicked off...

Other big news to report are the two wonderful baby showers that were thrown in our honor these past two weekends. I must first start out by saying a huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to make it or send there love. Derek and I are so thankful for even having the opportunity to have a baby shower in our honor. We never were very sure if we were going to get the opportunity. So words can not express how i feel about everyone's excitement and joy over our coming little one. There is no doubt he will be one loved child.

Shower number one was held in Altoona and given by my mom. Here is a bunch of pics from the day...
The set up before everyone arrived

We played "Let's Make A Deal" and had a bunch of fun with it. Everyone had "won" prizes playing the other games prior to this. When we started this game they had to choose box number one or box number two, then make a deal with their previous winnings. I of course got the original prizes and they got what was behind box number or box number two...

Grandma was happy with her deal...something tells me that it never made it home! :)

"Triple G" (a.k.a great grandma grace) and I finding it funny that the other two hoodlums in the picture are pointing at what appears to be a baby bump!

All the goodies that little baby Umnus "needs" to survive in this big ol' world...Thank you soooo much everyone for coming and celebrating this special occasion with us and for being so generous with your gifts!

Shower number two was held the following weekend and was given by Derek's mom and aunt. Here is a bunch of pics from that day as well...

All the goodies from the second shower that baby "needs"...Thanks again everyone for coming celebrating our little one's upcoming arrival!

Well, i think this post has gotten long enough. I am off to take a nap as I worked all last week and was called in to work everyday this week as well. By the looks of it, I might be bringing home some more dough next week too! So, I might not be getting as much rest before baby comes as i thought! But the money is nice! Until the next time!

32 weeks and feeling the heat!

Well it has been a busy week around the Umnus household. We held our annual rummage sale and although the traffic was a little slower we did pretty darn good. Grand total for all 10 families together was a whopping $1703! I have to say I am glad there are not pictures of me from those 4 days because the heat did a number on me and i know for sure my feet looked like sausages! Here is a pic of the goods we had on day 2.

The nursery has also been coming together slowly but surely. Derek has bit by bit getting the molding up in the room and finished it on Tuesday night! Just in time because our crib was delivered last night along with the conversion rails (but we won't need those for a few years)! Mia was playing jail kitty underneath...it was comical to watch her slide her "little" body underneath the railing to get in...

No pictures of the dresser for good reason...it did not get deleivered and will not for a minimum of 6 more weeks! erggggg. I can't tell you how frustrating this is (or maybe you know me well enough to realize how irritated I am). The furniture (all of it) was supposed to be here 3 weeks ago, but they finally told me that there had been a manufacuting delay for the dresser and it would be a min. of another 6 weeks....now that's cutting it pretty close people! I just want the stuff I am waiting to organize into the dresser out of the closet! To top it off, we are planning on getting the mattress with the nice little gift card from them (it was a deal they had going when we got the furniture), but they will not give it until the dresser is delivered to our house! As it was said...at least we have the bassinet for him to sleep in if all else fails.

So besides the dresser (which will be the changing table also) we have all the big items for the nursery. We had gotten the glider and ottoman a few weeks back and has been on display in the living room since then.

Thanks to Carla for wanting to head to IKEA a few weeks back and being a trooper for bringing back this bookcase! We had a blast walking through that store and ended up also finding the lamp and two shelves for the nursery! After some final thoughts, the star (even though it goes with the theme) will stay in the hallway...think of it as welcoming you to the nursery! :)

Well, I had my 32 week appointment with the doc yesterday. It went well and everything appears to be normal so far. I gained another 6 pounds which I promptly told the nurse before she weighed me that from here on out, any weight gain we see will surely be the baby and water because of the heat! She laughed and said something that made me feel so much better...coming from a stick thin nurse who is probably 120 pounds soaking wet..."If it makes you feel any better I gained 50 and 68 pounds with my first two pregnancies." ...and yes that did make me feel better! Blood pressure was good at 118/64. Baby boy Umnus's heartbeat was in the low 150's and Doctor is estimating he weighs about 4.5 pounds right now. I am measuring at 34 weeks (so two ahead now) but the doc said she would only be concerned if I was 3 weeks ahead. You never know, but we may be having an August baby after all! (which to be honest if this heatwave continues and the baby is okay to meet the world, I would be okay with it too). She answered my many questions again like a trooper and calmed my fears like she always does. She did say that after 34 weeks if I do start to go into labor she more than likely will not stop it! ahhhh...now that was a little scary to hear! Our birthing classes are not even until week 36! If we do go into labor during those classes, Derek's response would be "at least we are at the hospital already!"

I have been feeing okay for the most part. I have been feeling something similar to morning sickness again in the morning for the past few weeks on/off and even vomited a couple times and almost did in the office too! Now that would have been embarrassing. Doctor assured me that it is more than likely morning sickness returning which can happen to a few lucky ones and not to worry to much about it. Next appointment is in two weeks people! That's right TWO weeks! We are in the homestretch and starting to get a little more anxious, but a good anxious...now if that damn dresser was here! :)

Here I am at 32 weeks...wonder what I will look like in 8 more weeks! ahhh...

Baby Boy this week should be roughly 19 inches tall (sound about right for the jabs and stretches i have been feeling!). He should be sleeping for 90-95% of the day, but I beg to differ with the book on this one. Most of his wrinkles are disappearing due to the fat deposits being made which in turn is making his skin opaque like ours. He is supposed to be head down by now or in the next few weeks...but I am thinking he is not there yet, because sometimes it feels like he is laying sideways and stretching out as far as he can push it...which always feels so nice! Until next week!

long time eh?

Well it looks as thought I have been slacking on the blog posting...a whole three weeks worth! Well, to be honest we have had some computer issues and have not been able to do a whole lot, but we are on the mend! What have we been up to these past few weeks?

Well, I have been working and Derek has been pulling double duty with work...at Accutech and then when he gets home. The projects are coming along and looks like we will be ready for this baby soon! I have also been busy getting ready for the big annual rummage at the Umnus household t be held this weekend. Hopefully the weather is going to cooperate with us!

Here I am at 31 weeks!

I have been feeling well for the most part, except this past week starting to feel that morning sickness feeling again. Have only vomited today, but if this continues into tomorrow i may be calling the doctor's office. The baby is still quite active which is relief with the uneasy feeling. It has been interesting to be able to watch my stomach at times and see him literally move and change positions instead of just a nice left hook to my organs. I say left hook because Derek is determined to have our son be a lefty for sports. On that left hook note, sometimes he gets me so good that if i am resting my hands on the Buddha, they are literally lifted off with the force...crazy kid! I have been continuing to slow down and taking lots of deep breaths as baby boy enjoys laying and pushing mostly towards my ribcage and lungs. I always find him laying sideways (i think anyway) near my ribcage. I have also been taking naps again during the day when i am not working. Derek enjoys watching movies with me these days because i am usually fallen asleep on the couch by 9pm and he needs to tell me the last half of the movie.

Baby boy is growing and growing since we last "talked" he is roughly 17 inches in length and weighing in at a hefty 3 pounds or slightly more. He will continue to gain about .5-1 pound a week from here on out. All of his major organ systems are functioning and the major milestones from here on out will be adding that cute little baby fat we all like to comment on. He is yawning, opeing and closing his eyes, sucking his thumb, and eaven has the occasional hiccup (which i am not sure i have truly felt yet).
